PHR-IL's Activities Following the Gaza Flotilla Raid, 2.6.10
Throughout the ordeal, Physicians for Human Rights-Israel has remained in constant contact with senior physicians to try and find out the status of injured and deceased victims evacuated to Israeli medical centers. A petition was submitted to the High Court of Justice, demanding information about the health and whereabouts of hospitalized passengers. PHR-IL calls for an independent, international investigation as well as a National Commission of Inquiry to look into the decisions leading up to the events and for State actors take responsibility for their decisions.

PHR-IL to Israeli Ministry of Health and Foreign Ministry: Initiate an Emergency Hotline to Update Families of Injured or Killed passengers of the Free Gaza Flotilla

PHR-IL sent an urgent request to establish an emergency hotline that would enable families to inquire about the medical and legal status of loved ones: "We ask that contact details be disseminated to Israeli and foreign media channels without delay"

Adalah, PCATI and PHR-I Submit an Extraordinary Petition for Habeas Corpus and Demand for Information on Gaza Freedom Flotilla Passengers to the Israeli Supreme Court

The human rights organizations demanded that the state provide the names of people who were killed and injured on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla by the Israeli navy; the names and locations of those detained, as well as their condition; the legal status of the passengers on the ships; and access to those arrested, detained or in hospital without the restrictive pre-condition of requiring powers of attorney.

PHR-Israel Motions to Allow a Doctor Examine Ameer Makhoul and Obtain His Medical Records

Today, May 25, 2010, Physicians for Human Rights – Israel submitted an urgent motion to the District Court in Petach Tikva on behalf of Mr. Ammer Makhoul, the director of "Ittijah", the network of Arab NGOs in Israel. PHR-Israel demands that the Israel Prison Service (IPS) and the Israeli General Security Service (GSS) allow a PHR-Israel doctor to urgently examine Mr. Makhoul.

Court to Hear Motion Today by Adalah, the PCATI and PHR-IL Demanding the Lifting of Gag Order on Interrogation Methods Used against Ameer Makhoul and Disclosure about his Detention Conditions

An urgent motion submitted demanding that all details regarding the conditions in which Mr. Ameer Makhoul is being detained should be released, as well as the methods of interrogation that have been used against him.
