The Residents of Israel Department endeavors to achieve the following goals:

Experimental anthrax vaccine administered to IDF soldiers
 In 2007, Physicians for Human Rights-Israel (PHR-IL) launched a thorough investigation of an experiment code-named “Omer 2,” in which IDF soldiers were used as guinea pigs for an experimental anthrax vaccine. On 6.6.10, PHR-IL submitted a response to the High Court following the refusal of the Ministry of Defense to appoint a state commission of inquiry into the Omer 2 experiment.

Fight to repeal amendments to the National Health Law injurious to the public health system

 Various amendments to the National Health Insurance Law and National Insurance Law have impeded access by many residents to health services. PHR-Israel is fighting to repeal laws injurious to the egalitarian, public, and just nature of the public health system.

Mission to minimize disparities in access to, and availability of, health services for members of different communities including: central Israel versus outlying areas, rich and poor, Arabs and Jews.

Elimination of co-payments for services and medications included in the health-benefits basket

Physicians for Human Rights is fighting to eliminate co-payments for services and medications included in the national health-benefits basket. The organization seeks to eliminate all such fees, doing so on an incremental basis, while simultaneously procuring other sources of funding such as an increase in health taxation and removal of caps on such taxes.
