Despite the existence of a public health system, substantial discrepancies remain between poor and rich communities’ ability to access medical services, between residents living in peripheral rather than central districts, and between Arabs and Jews. The Residents' Department works to promote Israel's public health system and equal access to it for all, with a focus on disadvantaged groups in the population. The program identifies key problems in the implementation of the National Health Insurance Law, and acts to find systemic solutions for them. Read More

Following PHR-Israel's Petition to the High Court: New Order Tightens Control Over Experiments on Soldiers

The Israel Medical Corps accepted PHR-Israel's demand to reject experiments that have not been proven to benefit the soldier population; a set of directives will ensure that participants consent of their own free will.  For example, soldiers will be allowed to take a leave at home before consenting to participate in an experiment.
